Installed Windows 8 developer preview but not happy with Windows 8 Metro UI? Well if you’re addicted to Windows 7 and its start menu, than I can understand how hard it can be for you to adopt yourself to Windows 8 default metro UI.
So to get back Windows 7 desktop look and start menu in Windows 8, we need to do a little registry tweak and we will be able to transform the look of Windows 8 to Windows 7.
How to Disable Windows 8 Metro UI, Task Manager and Windows Explorer Ribbon?
Step 1: Open Run from from start menu.
Step 2: Type regedit and hit Enter
Step 3:Now in the left sidebar navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
Step 4: You will see RPEnabled on the right side, double click on it and change DWORD value date to 0. Now click OK.
Step 5: Log off or restart your Windows. That’s it.
Now you will have Windows 7 look on your Windows 8 with Windows 8 Metro UI, Explorer with Ribbon, Start orb and Taskbar disabled.
